Released in 2021, Woodford Reserve Five-Malt Stouted Mash Whiskey is the 17th release in their acclaimed Master’s Collection that started in 2006. Master Distiller Chris Morris and Assistant Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall looked to the distillery’s rich history as well as their own interests for inspiration when creating this unique whiskey. “Our distillery building was constructed by Irish stonemasons in 1838. That, plus the fact that we distill in the ‘Irish’ style with triple pot stills inspired us to mash and distill an Irish style stout beer,” said McCall. This Master’s Collection release captures the flavors of a stout beer and should please whiskey and beer drinkers alike with its distinct maltiness.

About Woodford Reserve
The Woodford Reserve Distillery sits on what was once an old Distillery founded by Elijah and his son, Oscar Pepper, in the 1800s. Years later, under the stewardship of Oscar and Master Distiller James Crow, their distillery reformed and modernized producing whiskey in the United States — the distillery revolutionized the concepts of sour mash and yeast propagation.
Today, the distillery is among Kentucky’s oldest and smallest bourbon distilleries. About American Whiskey
There are two main representatives of the American whiskey family, bourbon, and rye, but some other spirits don’t fall into those two strictly regulated categories.
There’s equally strictly regulated American single malt, made from 100% malted barley, Tennessee whiskey, essentially bourbon filtered through maple charcoal and aged in new charred oak barrels.
And then there’s moonshine, a high proof (150- 170 proof) distilled spirit mainly made out of corn which gained popularity during the prohibition.
